We always appreciate your questions and comments. Here's some we've heard before. If you have other questions, please contact us (click here for our enquiry screen).
Are the holidays suitable for children?
Many of our holidays are suitable for children particularly the grade 1 tours. Details of the grading can be found on the "Holidays" page of each region. We can provide children's bikes, trail-along bikes which are connected to mum or dad's bike for the 5-8yrs, and rear mounted seats for the 2-5yrs so they don’t miss out on the touring fun.
What are the distances from one hotel to the next?
The distances vary depending on the region chosen and terrain. You will find details on the "Holidays" page of each region. In general you may cycle as little as 12kms over a day up to the 58kms mark for those fitter and energetic holidayers who want to see more, sooner, faster...
Can I bring my own bike?
You are welcome to bring your own bike. For Australians that's a long way, so we believe you will be pleasantly surprised by these lightweight, strong aluminium touring bikes with excellent touring gears and frames for your panniers, besides our prices include the bikes.
Can the luggage be transferred from one hotel to another?
Usually suitcases are stored at the base hotel during your holiday and you take what you need (shorts, t-shirts and slacks or skirt with a dressier top for dinner), in panniers on the bikes. You return to this hotel for the last night. Travel light, enjoy it more! It gives you more flexibility in when you leave the hotels, less packing, and no time pressure for a luggage van. However if you want the complete wardrobe, suitcases can be transported from hotel to hotel in most regions, at an extra cost.
Do I have to cycle?
No, some of our routes can be covered on foot or of course by car. There are many things to see and do in the regions including horseriding, tennis, golf, canoeing, visiting wineries, swimming and relaxing with a book.
Do you provide helmets?
We do not provide helmets so please bring your own.
Does the price include dinner?
Our prices DO include dinner. Breakfast is also included. Lunch is your choice so be sure to pop into a boulangerie and visit the local supermache for some terrine, pate or cheese before the 12 noon siesta. But your bound to deserve a delicious dinner after peddling through the glorious countryside.
Do you provide insurance?
Insurance for the bikes is £15 per person (see booking conditions) and we can also suggest useful ways to protect your holiday enjoyment and unexpected occurances. Under the terms of our bookings contract you are required to have suitable travel insurance. This must include the costs of medical treatment and repatriation in the event of a serious accident or illness, and replacement value of our bicycle in the event of it being stolen.
Do the hotels have pools?
Many of our hotels do have pools so bring your cozzies - you will find details in our brochure.
