Winding river valleys, deep wooded gorges and long descents through forests from towns perched on the steep slopes of the river, stunning scenery and so few people, peace and tranquility. The Tarn River district is about 2 hours drive north east of Toulouse. It's duck and salmon country with other delicacies to tantalise the palate accompanied by a glass of delicious Gaillac wine. The medieval city of Albi with its cathedrals and museums is a delight. Viking ships navigated the Tarn river over 1,000 years ago as far as Brouse le Chateau.
